Learning Standards Office
The VA Acquisition Academy (VAAA) has achieved Accredited Provider accreditation from the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). As an IACET Accredited Provider, VAAA offers IACET continuing education credits (CEUs) for its learning events that comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. The accreditation period extends for five years and includes all VAAA-developed programs offered or created during that time. To achieve Accredited Provider accreditation, VAAA completed a rigorous application process and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 2018-1 Standard for Continuing Education and Training by addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes the quality of continuing education and training.
The LSO is geared to academic excellence. We ensure that education standards are being met across all schools within the VA Acquisition Academy (VAAA) and that those who come to the VAAA will receive the training they need to enhance their skills. At the conclusion of each course or training event, learners complete evaluations to be thoroughly analyzed by LSO staff. The LSO is also involved in VAAA enterprise quality assurance. The LSO then advises and assists each school in improving and updating its curriculum.

The primary goals of the Learning Standards Office include supporting program evaluation, maintaining stakeholder engagement, initiating standards development through accreditation, and cultivating strategic partnerships.
- Leverage instructional technology standards to continuously provide innovative methods for obtaining greater learner achievement within the VAAA enterprise.
- Develop strategic partnerships with organizations committed to high quality acquisition education standards.
- Remain technically and tactically proficient in the standards development process supporting research and development opportunities leading to organizational performance improvement.
- Provide a means and method for stakeholder engagement in development of a VAAA comprehensive continuous evaluation process.
